Basic Beef and Bacon Chili

Basic Beef and Bacon Chili

Makes 4 servings.


  • 1 package onion soup mix
  • 1/2 cup green pepper, diced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 strip bacon, chopped
  • 1 can (1 lb.) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (1 lb.) kidney beans
  • 2 Tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp brown sugar


In a large frying pan, sauté the soup mix, green pepper, garlic, and salt in the canola oil. Add ground beef and bacon and cook, stirring frequently. Add crushed tomatoes, kidney beans, chili powder, and brown sugar. Bring to a bowl and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve hot.
